This past weekend we headed to Toledo to get a feel of our future city! If all goes as planned, my husband’s job will be transferring him to Ohio within the next few months. This is a huge life-changing event because we’re in our first year of marriage and relocating to a city where we have no family or friends. This is super scary, super exciting, and super crazy for us all!
We stayed at the Home2 Suites by Hilton in Perrysburg (a suburb of Toledo) for the duration of our trip. This was a prime location because you’re in Levis Commons where you have a number of options to eat and shop, and most importantly, it feels safe! The hotel was modern and was filled with the nicest staff members. It also offered a bar (Paparazzi, shown below) that opens at 5 p.m, a 24-hour gym, and a swimming pool!
The staff: Incredibly accommodating – I requested a crib for Remington and they actually grabbed one from their sister hotel next door because they were out which was SO nice! One front desk attendant also gave us a Toledo guide book which gave us a lot of information about the city and things to do.
Wifi: Free and easily accessible for people like me who need to work on the go. I didn’t have to call the front desk to get info – you just connect and go.
Food: Free breakfast which offered several options. Waffles, microwaveable scrambles (REALLY good!), muffins, bagels, different juices, coffee and fresh fruit. You can also purchase ice cream, burritos, and several microwaveable meals at the front desk and I found the prices to be about the same as in the store.
Would I stay again? Absolutely yes! We will probably be visiting one or two more times before we officially move to check out houses. From what we’ve seen, we like Toledo and what it has to offer. We can’t wait to explore the Zoo and stop at a few mom-and-pop shops next time!
